PROJECT TYPE: Illustration
THE ORIGIN STORY
For the final project of my UNLV Advanced Illustrator class, we were tasked with creating an illustration of our choosing using all of the skills we’ve been taught. I opted to create an original, short comic. Hence, Halenstorm – an epic hero with an even more epic imagination – was born. And yes, Halenstorm was inspired by the late, great Eddie Van Halen.

In curating this portfolio, I decided that instead of inundating it with piece after piece, I’d put Halenstorm front and center as it’s my best representative work, showcasing a lot of the skills I acquired at UNLV.

The plot twist allowed me to switch animation styles from semi-realistic to a South Park-like look.
Final thoughts – This was a fun one, and the piece that I’m most proud of.
